Since a poetry instructor in college  introduced me to Gerard Manley Hopkins’, Carrion Comfort has been my rosary.  When we were conceiving the book, Doug and I were becoming increasingly appalled and grieved by the fate of thousands of greyhounds, and by extension other beings, who are sacrificed every year for human entertainment and greed. They are all very much at the heart of this book, and in the spirit of the ink drawings.
